Toronto, ON – Frederick Matthews of Cambridge can “find his possible” after winning a LOTTO 6/49 prize worth $1 million in the Gold Ball Draw on February 22, 2023.
Frederick, a 56-year-old father, said he’s been a regular lottery player for 30 years. “I scanned my ticket while in my car and thought I won $1,000 at first. When I looked again, I realized there were more zeros,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I looked in my rear-view mirror and my face was white with shock.”
Frederick said he called his wife and then texted her a screenshot of the win and told her to check her messages. “She said, ‘You’re kidding – it’s a joke,’” he laughed.
Excited to plan a family trip to celebrate, Frederick plans to enjoy his windfall. “I’ve worked hard my whole life – now it’s time to enjoy,” he smiled.
