Toronto, ON – The LOTTO MAX odds have shone in favour of Gordon Troy of Stirling! He won a MAXMILLIONS prize worth $1 million in the May 23, 2023 LOTTO MAX draw.
Gordon, a father and grandfather, said he has won smaller prizes in the past, but this is his largest win to date. “I had friends who always thought I’d win big,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his windfall. “They say it couldn’t have happened to a better person.”
Gordon, 69, says he was having an ordinary morning when he drove into town to pick up a newspaper. While at the store, he decided to check his ticket. “I handed it to the clerk, turned around to pick up a box of mints, and heard the machine go off,” he recalled. “I asked, ‘Did I win?’ and the clerk said I might have won $10,000. I was so overwhelmed I had to sit down. Then, the store owner told me I won $1 million!”
The retiree went home to share the exciting news with his wife. “I was shaking when I told her! I had to take some time to settle down!”
Gordon says he and his wife will invest and plan for their future. “My wife is my best friend – this is so meaningful for us. This win has changed my life,” he concluded.
