Toronto, ON – Lucia Figliuzzi of Maple can “find her possible” after winning a LOTTO 6/49 prize worth $1 million in the Gold Ball Draw on July 5, 2023.
Lucia, a 75-year-old mother and grandmother, said she’s an occasional lottery player. She enjoys playing LOTTO 6/49 and always says yes to ENCORE. Lucia has won some smaller prizes in the past, but this is her largest win to date!
The retired factory worker checked her ticket and discovered she’d won big. “When I saw that my ticket had the million-dollar numbers on it, I started shaking,” she shared, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings. “I was shocked and couldn’t believe it was happening to me!”
She then called her daughter to reveal the exciting news. “I waited to tell my son, since he was out of town and I wanted to see his reaction,” she said. “Neither of my kids believed me at first – they had to see the ticket to believe it was real. When I showed them, they were overjoyed! My family said that if anyone deserves this win, it’s me.”
Lucia plans to travel to Mexico for her birthday and share her winnings with family. “I’m happy to help my children and grandchildren,” she smiled. “I look forward to the comfort this will provide. We’ve held off on celebrating so far, but I can’t wait. To be honest, I’m overwhelmed and still trying to process this win!” she concluded.
