Toronto, ON – Miroslaw Kruszelnicki of Kitchener can “find his possible” after winning a LOTTO 6/49 second prize worth $289,631.40 in the August 9, 2023 LOTTO 6/49 draw.
Miroslaw, a 60-year-old business owner, said he started playing the lottery in 1991 after coming to Canada. He typically plays LOTTO 6/49 and LOTTO MAX. “I started playing LOTTO 6/49 recently because I liked the odds more,” he shared, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “It turns out, that was a good idea!”
The father of two checked his ticket at the store and uncovered his big win. “I was in shock and thought I had won $289,” he recounted. “In that moment, I was sure something was wrong with the scanner!” Miroslaw asked the clerk to double check his ticket and discovered he’d won even more than he initially thought. “I was so excited to come to the Prize Centre today,” he said.
He then shared the news with his wife of 30 years. “She thought I was kidding. I stayed home that day and considered what I was going to do with almost $300,000!”
With his windfall, Miroslaw plans to manage his finances and go on vacation. “I want to save up and go to the next World Cup,” he smiled. “This is the first time I’ve won something big, and I feel very, very, very good!”
