Toronto, ON – Asim Riaz of Mississauga can “find his possible” after winning a LOTTO 6/49 second prize worth $342,249.70 in the September 16, 2023 LOTTO 6/49 draw.
Asim, 60, said he plays LOTTO 6/49, LOTTO MAX and LOTTARIO and this is his first big win! “My best friend suggested these numbers. She loves math and probability, so she does her own math and comes up with these numbers,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.
It was Asim’s friend that shared the big news with him. “Since she chose the numbers, she had them memorized and called me at midnight. I was worried when she called because she normally goes to bed early. When I picked up, I was panicking until she told me I had the winnings numbers. I was shocked!”
After a sleepless night, Asim called OLG to confirm and that’s when reality hit him. “It’s a really good feeling. It happened at a perfect time – this is truly a blessing.”
He plans to pay bills with his winnings. “I can tell others that real people really do win the lottery,” he smiled.
LOTTO 6/49 offers players a chance to win two multi-million dollar jackpots every Wednesday and Saturday, for the same $3 per play.
The Classic Draw offers a fixed $5 million jackpot for every draw, while the Gold Ball Draw guarantees a $1 million prize, or the growing jackpot that starts at $10 million and can exceed $60 million. Click here for more information about the new LOTTO 6/49.
The winning ticket was purchased at County Court Convenience on County Court Boulevard in Brampton.
