Lois, a mother and grandmother, says she’s been a regular lottery player for over 20 years. “This ticket was a late birthday gift from a friend,” she shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings. “This is my first big win!”
The retiree discovered her big win as she was playing her ticket and chatting with her friend. “I noticed I had a line and when I scratched the last number, I realized I had something. I whispered, ‘I think I won $250,000!'” Lois smiled. “I started to shake with excitement – we celebrated all night!”
She plans on putting her win aside for now. “I’m too wrapped up in excitement to make any decisions. I do plan to treat myself to a traditional indigenous bear carving I have always wanted.”
“It was an amazing moment to celebrate with my friend who bought the ticket for me,” Lois concluded.
INSTANT BINGO MULTIPLIER is available for $10 a play and the top prize is $250,000. Odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.59.
The winning ticket was purchased at Giant Tiger on Dundas Street in Woodstock.
